Visual stories are written in an easy-to-read format and use pictures to provide greater accessibility for everyone.
This visual story has been developed in collaboration with Autism Spectrum Australia.
Visual stories are used to prepare people for a new environment or situation.

About the Venues
ICC Sydney is Australia’s leading venue for conventions, exhibitions, and entertainment. It offers modern design, advanced technology, and adaptable spaces for different types of meetings.
The venue includes 70 meeting spaces, three theatres with seating for 1,000 to 8,000 people, Australia’s largest ballroom, a 5,000sqm outdoor Event Deck, and 35,000sqm of indoor exhibition space.
Located on Darling Harbour, ICC Sydney provides high-quality facilities for events, supporting Sydney’s reputation as a top destination for business events.

- Ask permission before selling or showing things from outside the venue

Sensory Information
A visit to ICC Sydney may involve a variety of different experiences.
These could include:
- Walking or wheeling on hard floors
- Walking or wheeling on carpeted floors
- Considerable circulation within the venue which may require comfortable footwear
- Loud noises
- Loud electric hand dryers
- Very bright areas
- Different smells and scents
- Quiet spaces for rest and relaxation – ask an ICC Sydney team member for directions or follow signs in the venue

- Large spiked wrist or neck bands, spiked or studded belts
- Knives, weapons, scissors and chains

Food and Drink
The Convention Centre Café on the ground floor sells pre-made food like sandwiches, snacks, salads, coffee, and drinks. It’s open Monday-Friday from 8am to 2pm. The café is cashless. Cafés and Kiosks may open in event specfic areas, subject to event operations.
The area is very bright, so bring a hat or sunglasses. If it gets noisy, noise-cancelling headphones or earmuffs can help.
Help yourself to water from our complimentary water stations, located in the café and throughout the venue.

Planning My Journey
In the heart of Sydney, ICC Sydney is located within the vibrant Darling Harbour precinct on Cockle Bay. You can drop off and pick up vehicles for ICC Sydney’s Convention and Exhibition Centres at the venue’s main entrance, located on Iron Wharf Place off Darling Drive, next to Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour. There is also a drop-off point at Zollner Circuit, next to the TikTok Entertainment Centre.
ICC Sydney features multiple public access points which can be reached by foot, car, and public transport.
Car
ICC Sydney has two 24-hour car parks with a total of 826 spaces, including 12 accessible bays, 25 motorcycle spots, 50 bicycle racks, and 20 electric car charging spaces. For more details, visit our website here.
Bus
ICC Sydney has a dedicated bus stop. Bus routes 389 and 501 stop at Harris Street near Allen Street, a 10-minute walk from the venue.
Ferry
You can take a ferry to Darling Harbour from Circular Quay, with direct services to King Street Wharf or Pyrmont Bay Wharf. Captain Cook Cruises also operates services between Darling Harbour Convention Wharf, Barangaroo King Street Wharf No. 1, and Circular Quay.
Sydney Light Rail
The Light Rail stops at several stations in Darling Harbour, including ICC Sydney’s Convention Centre and Exhibition Centre. It starts at Central Station in the CBD and goes to Dulwich Hill in the inner west. For more information, visit Sydney Light Rail here.
Taxi or Ride Share
The best taxi drop-off and pick-up spot for events at the ICC Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centres is Iron Wharf Place. For those attending events at the TikTok Entertainment Centre, Event Deck, or Halls 3, 4, and 7 of the Exhibition Centre, Zollner Circuit at the southern end of the TikTok Entertainment Centre is recommended. Both locations can be accessed via Darling Drive.
Train
A 10-minute walk from Central or Town Hall stations will get you to ICC Sydney, as well as Darling Quarter, Tumbalong Park, and the Sydney Visitor Centre.
Water Taxi
A water taxi is a convenient way to reach Darling Harbour. They depart from The Rocks, Circular Quay, The Opera House, and Luna Park.

What to Expect on Arrival?
ICC Sydney has three venues spanning three city blocks: the Convention Centre, Exhibition Centre, and TikTok Entertainment Centre. The venue is quite vast, but each building is connected via Level 2, which is easy to access with elevators and has no stairs. It’s designed for people with mobility aids or prams. There are also lowered counters at important retail and customer service areas.
Getting Home/Leaving
You can go home by car, bus, light rail, ferry, taxi, water taxi. You can also walk to Town Hall or Central stations to catch a train.

Convention Centre
Travelling to ICC Sydney Convention Centre by Car

The closest car park to ICC Sydney’s Convention Centre is Exhibition Car Park 1 (P1). The entrance is located on the southern end of Darling Drive.

There are 8 accessibility parking bays located in ICC Sydney’s Exhibition Car Park 1 (P1).
Walk towards the pay station and exit sign.

There will be a short hallway with a slight incline.
Walk towards the map.

You will walk past the lifts and through the hallway, then past Planar restaurant. From Planar restaurant you will see large glass doors facing you, this will take you inside ICC Sydney’s Convention Centre.

An usher will greet you when you enter and will advise you where your event is located and where to go from here.
This area can get busy and noisy when you walk through.
To note, if this entry point is closed. Please walk around the Convention Centre towards Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour to enter via the main entrance to Convention Centre.

Travelling to ICC Sydney Convention Centre by Taxi or Ride Share

The best taxi and ride share drop off and pick up for ICC Sydney’s Convention Centre is located on the northern end of Darling Drive in Iron Wharf Place, opposite of Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour.

When you enter ICC Sydney’s Convention Centre main entrance, you will be welcomed by an usher who will direct you on where you need to go.

Travelling to ICC Sydney Convention Centre by Light Rail

ICC Sydney is located on the L1 Dulwich Hill light rail line. The closest stop to ICC Sydney’s Convention Centre is Convention Centre.
The Convention Centre light rail station provides at-grade and stair-free access with a signalised pedestrian crossing.
Exit the light rail by ramp towards the pedestrian crossing located on Darling Drive.

Cross the pedestrian crossing and head towards ICC Sydney’s Convention Centre straight ahead.

When you enter ICC Sydney’s Convention Centre main entrance, you will be welcomed by an usher who will direct you on where you need to go.
This area can get busy and noisy.
Exhibition Centre
Travelling to ICC Sydney Exhibition Centre by Car

The closest car park to ICC Sydney’s Convention Centre is Exhibition Car Park 1 (P1). The entrance is located on the southern end of Darling Drive.

There are 8 accessibility parking bays located in ICC Sydney’s Exhibition Car Park 1 (P1).
Walk towards the pay station and exit sign.

There will be a short hallway with a slight incline. Walk towards the map.
A lift will be located on both the left- and right-hand side that you can access. Take the lift directly up to Level 2.

Upon exiting the lifts on Level 2, you will walk straight ahead entering ICC Sydney’s Exhibition Centre.
An usher will welcome you and help you, if needed. This area can get busy and noisy.
Travelling to ICC Sydney Exhibition Centre by Taxi or Ride Share

The best taxi and ride share drop off and pick up for TikTok Entertainment Centre is located on the southern end of Darling Drive in Zollner Circuit. Head straight towards the Chinese Garden of Friendship and turn left walking alongside Tumbalong Boulevard.

Continue straight towards Cockle Bay Wharf.

Once you past Fratelli Fresh and the Cloak Room, you will see steps and a ramp. Access the steps or ramp to head towards ICC Sydney’s Exhibition Centre.

You can head up to ICC Sydney’s Exhibition Centre via the lift to Level 2, the escalator or the stairs.

You will be welcomed by an usher who will direct you on where you need to go.

Travelling to ICC Sydney Exhibition Centre by Light Rail

ICC Sydney is located on the L1 Dulwich Hill light rai line. The closest stop to ICC Sydney’s Exhibition Centre is Exhibition Centre.
The Exhibition Centre light rail station provides at-grade and stair-free access with a signalised pedestrian crossing.

Exit the light rail by ramp towards the pedestrian crossing located on Darling Drive. Cross the pedestrian crossing and head towards Moriarty Walk.

Continue to walk through Moriarty Walk and you will see a lift, escalators and stairs on your left.

Head up to Level 2 for ICC Sydney’s Exhibition Centre.
When you enter ICC Sydney’s Exhibition Centre, you will be welcomed by an usher who will direct you on where you need to go.

TikTok Entertainment Centre
Travelling to TikTok Entertainment Centre by Car

The closest car park to ICC Sydney’s Theatre is TikTok Entertainment Centre Car Park 2 (P2). The entrance is located on the southern end of Darling Drive.

There are 3 accessibility parking bays located in TikTok Entertainment Centre Car Park 2 (P2).
Walk towards the lift and take the lift down to Ground.

Upon exiting the lifts on Ground, take a left to exit onto Moriarty Walk. You will then turn right, walking towards TikTok Entertainment Centre.

Head up to TikTok Entertainment Centre via the lift to Level 2, the escalators or the stairs.
You will be welcomed by an usher who will direct you on where you need to go.

Travelling to TikTok Entertainment Centre by Taxi or Ride Share

Convention Centre
Leaving ICC Sydney Convention Centre by Car

When your event has finished, make your way back to the main foyer of ICC Sydney’s Convention Centre.
An usher can assist you with directions if required. This area may be busy and noisy as guests depart.
Walk towards the large glass doors at the entrance of the Convention Centre.
Exit through the glass doors. You will see Planar restaurant in front of you.

To note, If this exit point is closed, please walk around the Convention Centre towards Cockle Bay Wharf and Planar restaurant to access Exhibition Car Park 1 (P1).

Walk past Planar restaurant and continue down the hallway.

You will pass the lifts on your left and walk through a short hallway with a slight decline.

Follow the signs to the pay station and exit.
Continue walking towards Exhibition Car Park 1 (P1).
If you parked in one of the 8 accessibility parking bays, these are located within Exhibition Car Park 1 (P1).

The car park exit is located on the southern end of Darling Drive.
Leaving ICC Sydney Convention Centre by Taxi or Ride Share

When your event has finished, make your way to the main entrance of ICC Sydney’s Convention Centre.
If you are unsure where to go, an usher can assist you with directions.
This area may be busy and noisy as guests are leaving.
Exit through the main entrance doors.

For taxi or ride share pick-up, this is the designated drop-off and pick up location on Iron Wharf Place.

Once in Moriarty Walk, head towards the Chinese Garden of Friendship and Darling Square via the steps or the ramp.

Walk straight past Fratelli Fresh and around TikTok Entertainment Centre towards Zollner Circuit.

This is the designated taxi and ride share pick-up and drop-off location for the TikTok Entertainment Centre.

When your event has finished, make your way to the foyer of ICC Sydney’s Exhibition Centre on Level 2 towards TikTok Entertainment Centre end.

Exit out of ICC Sydney’s Exhibition Centre and make your way down via the lift, escalator or stairs to Moriarty Walk, also known as Dancers’ Alley Sydney.

Continue straight ahead towards the pedestrian crossing on Darling Drive.

When you reach ground level, turn right and head through Moriarty Walk.
On your left there will be an entrance to TikTok Entertainment Centre Car Park 2 (P2).

Take the lift up to the car park level. There are 3 accessibility parking bays located within TikTok Entertainment Centre Car Park 2 (P2).

The car park exit is located on the southern end of Darling Drive.

Leaving TikTok Entertainment Centre by Taxi or Ride Share

Make your way down to ground level using the lift, escalator or stairs.
