Long term sustainability

Built for a more sustainable future, The Cutaway operates on 100% renewable energy and combines innovative building systems with the natural thermal properties of its sandstone setting to reduce environmental impact while enhancing performance and comfort.

Sustainability is embedded in the venue’s design. By repurposing the existing subterranean structure, The Cutaway significantly reduced embodied carbon, avoided demolition waste and delivered a low-impact venue that balances environmental responsibility with world-class event capability

When can I book the Cutaway?

The Cutaway is open for bookings from 1 August 2026. ICC Sydney welcomes event enquiries now for events from this date onwards. Please reach out for enquiries regarding The Cutaway here

How can I get to the Cutaway?

Located at 1 Merriman St, Barangaroo NSW 2000, The Cutaway is just 8km from Sydney Airport by car. It is also a 6 minute walk from Barangaroo Metro station with step-free access from the metro straight through to the venue. A public car park is available beneath the venue on levels B1 and B2.

What events can be held at The Cutaway?

The Cutaway hosts single tenancy events across 8 event types, including; markets and exhibitions, launches, banquets, charity functions, community events, corporate functions, fashion shows, and photography and filming.

Does The Cutaway have on-site catering and AV support?

Yes. The venue includes a commercial kitchen along with integrated audio, vision, lighting and rigging. This is all supported end to end by ICC Sydney’s in house AV team to help deliver complex productions seamlessly.
