Our ICC Sydney team was pleased to connect with some of our valued international colleagues at the recent IMEX Frankfurt trade show. At the event, we had the opportunity to showcase the strong partnership we have cultivated with our destination marketing partners. Together, with BESydney, ‘Team Sydney’ is spearheading a new era of business events that transcend economic contribution through delegate expenditure, focusing on the broader purpose they serve.
BESydney’s decade-long commitment to research on beyond tourism benefits has been remarkable. Their emphasis on knowledge transfer, talent attraction, and direct foreign investment resonates deeply with ICC Sydney’s values and initiatives such as our ever-expanding Legacy Program that empowers event organisers to host events that are sustainable, inclusive, innovative and respectful of First Nations Peoples.
As we celebrate our own ten-year milestone, we take pride in our role as a global connector. Welcoming diverse delegates and providing world class services tailored to their needs has been at the heart of our mission. Beyond the metrics of room nights and job creation, our greatest satisfaction stems from the positive difference we make in the lives of our visitors and the broader community. I encourage you to explore our recent initiatives that strengthen our communities, build the cultural capital of Sydney and enrich business events, by following this link: Sydney’s Change Agenda Helping Associations to Meet with Purpose | ICC Sydney
Looking ahead, we are delighted to mark this year’s Global Exhibitions Day on 5 June. In the last quarter of FY2023/24, we anticipate welcoming over 131,800 individuals across 16 exhibitions. These events serve as catalysts for trade and innovation across diverse sectors, aligning perfectly with the Australian government’s emphasis on advancing manufacturing and clean energy projects through the “Future Made in Australia Act” incentive scheme.
