04 Jun 2026

International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney), managed by Legends Global, was inducted into the Hall of Fame in the 2026 NSW Sommelier Wine List Awards for consistently championing New South Wales (NSW) wine excellence.

Presented by the NSW Wine Industry Association and Destination NSW at a ceremony held at NSW Parliament House, ICC Sydney was selected following its four wins as Best NSW Wine List by a Caterer or in a Functions Venue in the NSW Sommelier Wine List Awards program.

ICC Sydney Chief Executive Officer Adam MatherBrown said: “We are incredibly proud to enter the NSW Sommelier Wine List Awards Hall of Fame. This accolade recognises the efforts of the ICC Sydney’s team, in particular, William Wilson’s dedication to curating our exceptional 100% NSW wine list. Showcasing the quality and diversity of our state’s producers has long been a hallmark of our approach, and it is an honour to present these wines to attendees who visit our venue from across the globe. This achievement reflects our commitment to championing local talent and celebrating the very best that New South Wales has to offer.”

As the first venue to be inducted into the Hall of Fame in this category, ICC Sydney was recognised for its premium 100% local wine list, serving more than 660,000 bottles of local wine at events since opening in December 2016.

William Wilson has been instrumental in curating the venue’s 100% NSW wine list, alongside ICC Sydney General Manager – Operations, Lynell Peck. Wilson’s industry connections and knowledge of local wines have played a key role in the venue’s contribution to regional suppliers, which in FY2024/25 reached A$13.85 million in direct expenditure for NSW food and beverage suppliers.

ICC Sydney Senior Manager, Retail and Beverage Services William Wilson said: “This recognition reflects many years of championing a 100% NSW wine list across ICC Sydney’s venues and our commitment to showcasing producers from across the state. It has been a privilege to present these wines to our guests. Their passion and trust have allowed us to elevate NSW wines on a global stage, and we look forward to continuing to share exceptional NSW drops.”

With ICC Sydney entering the Hall of Fame, William Wilson presented the award for the 2026 Best NSW Wine List by a Caterer or in a Functions Venue to this year’s winner – Sydney Seafood School at Sydney Fish Market.

William Wilson was among Australia’s first certified sommeliers through the Court of Master Sommeliers and is a Certified Cicerone®, equivalent to the Sommelier qualification in the world of beer. ICC Sydney has been selected as a finalist six times in these prestigious awards and has been named a winner four times prior to being inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2026 in its category.
