ICC Sydney’s inclusive workplace first to be recognised in national equality program

21 Sep 2023

Australia’s premier convention, exhibition and entertainment venue was awarded Bronze Tier status in Pride in Diversity’s Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI).

International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney), managed by ASM Global, is the first convention centre to be awarded a Bronze Tier status in Pride in Diversity’s Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI).

Driven by ICC Sydney’s internal LGBTQIA+ diversity focus group, The Same Same Collective, and underpinned by its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategy, this accreditation highlights ICC Sydney’s proactive approach to creating an inclusive workplace.

ICC Sydney CEO and Group Director – Convention Centres, ASM Global (APAC), Geoff Donaghy said the accolade was welcome recognition of the team’s commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for its workforce, customers and visitors.

“From day one, we set out to ensure ICC Sydney was a place of total respect, courtesy and inclusion for every visitor through our doors, and it is gratifying to have this formally recognised through Pride in Diversity’s Australian Workplace Equality Index.

“As the first convention centre to achieve this benchmark, ICC Sydney demonstrates a strong commitment to continuing to meet national standards with regards to workplace diversity, equity and inclusion,” Mr Donaghy said.
