ICC Sydney Celebrates Ten Years of Championing Local Wine

05 Nov 2026

Celebrating ten years of operation in 2026, International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney), managed by Legends Global, marks a decade of championing New South Wales (NSW) wine producers. Over the years, the venue has created meaningful economic opportunities for regional wineries while showcasing the quality and diversity of the state’s wine regions to millions of visitors from around the world.

ICC Sydney’s commitment to championing NSW wine includes maintaining a 100 per cent NSW wine list, hosting the NSW Wine Awards on Friday 30 October, and engaging producers from across the state, including through long-standing partnerships with regions such as the Hunter Valley, Mudgee, Riverina, Tumbarumba and Orange.

Adam Mather-Brown, Chief Executive Officer, ICC Sydney said: “For 10 years, ICC Sydney has proudly championed NSW winemakers through a wine program that is dedicated to showcasing the very best of our state.

“Through this platform we have introduced millions of guests, delegates and event attendees to the incredible diversity, quality and craftsmanship of NSW wine regions.

“Since opening in December 2016, ICC Sydney has purchased 640,000 bottles of NSW wine creating economic opportunities for regional wineries and supporting jobs, investment and prosperity across New South Wales.

“By connecting regional producers with global audiences, we are helping drive investment, support jobs, strengthen regional economies and showcase NSW as one of the world’s great food and wine destinations,” Mather-Brown said.

Lynell Peck, General Manager – Operations, ICC Sydney said: “Our wine philosophy has always been simple: we introduce guests to the very best of NSW reflecting the extraordinary regions and producers that make our state so special.

“Over the past decade we’ve built relationships with top local winemakers, from established labels through to emerging producers. That commitment has helped us create one of Australia’s most distinctive venue wine programs.

“Last financial year 99 per cent of all wine purchased by ICC Sydney came from NSW producers, and we purchased A$12.8 million of food and beverage products from NSW providers.

With growing numbers of interstate and international visitors experiencing our food and beverage offering, ICC Sydney provides a powerful platform to tell the story of NSW wine and introduce guests to the remarkable diversity of our state’s wine regions,” Peck said.

Mark Bourne, President, NSW Wine Industry said: “ICC Sydney has backed NSW wine for ten years, and with 99 per cent of its wine sourced from NSW producers, that support is real and measurable. Putting regional wines in front of interstate and international guests creates wonderful opportunities for our producers, and we congratulate ICC Sydney on a decade of championing the very best of our state.”

Underscored by ICC Sydney Senior Manager, Retail and Beverage Services William Wilson’s support and advocacy efforts, ICC Sydney was inducted into the Hall of Fame in the 2026 NSW Sommelier Wine List Awards for consistently championing NSW wine excellence.
