CEO Update – August 2023

30 Aug 2023

Bujari Gamarruwa,

At ICC Sydney, we have taken remarkable strides to make a lasting impact on both our local community and the industries we serve through the business events we host every day. Our commitment to innovation, meaningful partnerships, and creating extraordinary experiences lies at the heart of our progress and endeavours, and we are proud to highlight a few key initiatives that support event organisers to amplify positive social impact through events.

For the seventh consecutive year, ICC Sydney welcomed over 6,000 high school students, teachers, and volunteers to the Stand Tall event – a powerful initiative that aims to build hope into the lives of Australia’s young people. Together, we united to champion youth mental health, fostering an environment where inspirational speakers sparked open conversations by sharing their own stories, highlighting the benefits of resilience in the face of life’s challenges. I invite you to read the full event case study to explore the impact of this remarkable event.

Our dedication to connecting you with the local First Nations, next generation, creative and startup communities are important streams in our industry leading Legacy Program. Through this program, we strive to enrich events while we cultivate opportunities for Aboriginal people, professionals and emerging artists and entrepreneurs by providing them with invaluable opportunities and experiences through the events we host

In a true demonstration of our commitment to community support, ICC Sydney’s record-breaking number of 20 runners raised over A$6,000 for our Legacy Program partner KARI Foundation, during this year’s City2Surf event – the world’s largest fun run held in Sydney. Beyond being a dynamic opportunity for our team to volunteer their time, energy and enjoy Sydney’s picturesque views, the funds will directly contribute to KARI’s programs and services for First Nations families, children and communities, and reflect our dedication to giving back in a meaningful and sustainable manner.

Innovation is part of our DNA here at ICC Sydney and we’ve harnessed the power of technology to enhance delegate experiences with our state of the art event app recently activated for the Accor EmPOWERed Pacific Leaders Conference (read more here). This customisable tool integrates digital solutions that elevate engagement, networking, and overall efficiency. By continuing to raise the bar in the digital landscape for events, our team of experts can better meet your event needs with our services delivered all under one roof.

Our team of world class audio visual professionals recently transformed the Darling Harbour Theatre into a cutting-edge movie theatre experience for the Australian Premiere of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, showcasing our commitment to innovation and delivering unparalleled event solutions. Complemented by our comprehensive event management, security and culinary service delivery, you can read about all the technical delivery details in the case study here.

Our journey is built on the foundations of collaboration, innovation, and meaningful impact. As we move forward, we are excited to continue shaping the future of events and bettering the community with you. Our team looks forward to supporting you to achieve your social impact goals together.

Kind Regards,

Geoff Donaghy
