SOCIAL CONTRIBUTION

ICC Sydney operates on the land of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, and we pay our respect to the Traditional Custodians and Elders past, present and future.

After launching an industry first Reconciliation Action Plan in 2018, ICC Sydney has launched its second Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in March 2022 to continue celebrating, recognising and acknowledging Australia’s First Nations culture, histories and people.

Reconciliation Action Plan

First Nations

At ICC Sydney, we firmly believe we have an obligation to celebrate and showcase the cultures of Australia’s First Nations people. We celebrate and acknowledge First Nations culture by welcoming guests at our main access points in Gadigal language alongside external and internal digital signage venue wide. Through our partnership with the Metropolitan Local Aboriginal Land Council (MLAC), we provide an Acknowledgement of Country at ICC Sydney meetings, offer First Nations pre-employment programs and provide employee mentoring in partnership with KARI Foundation.

In addition, we’ve commissioned Jeffrey Samuels (founding co-member of Boomalli Aboriginal Artist’s Cooperative) to create a work that tells the story of how Australia’s First Nations people are connected to Sydney Harbour which proudly resides in the Convention Centre foyer.

Donations

We are committed to our community and donate to Matthew Talbot Hostel, a service run by the St. Vincent De Paul Society New South Wales. We also partner with several charities such as the Salvation Army and Youth Off The Streets to support their charitable initiatives.

Through working with local charity organisations, we help our clients unite their leftover event items to communities in need, from astro turf for recreational clubs to furnitures, umbrellas and potted plants.

Volunteering

ICC Sydney’s team are passionately support and advocate for the community, giving back through volunteering, knowledge sharing, donations and awareness campaigns. Our team members are also encouraged to dedicate time for volunteering with our charity partners throughout the year.
