ICC Sydney celebrates a decade of championing Orange regional wines

Now in its tenth year of operation, International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney), managed by Legends Global), celebrates a decade of championing Orange wine producers by returning to the Orange Wine Show to celebrate the region’s thriving wine industry and reconnect with its network of wine producers.

Australia’s premier convention, exhibition and entertainment venue sponsored the Best Exhibitor award category in the Orange Wine Show, while William Wilson, Senior Manager, Retail and Beverage Services met with existing partners and prospective local vignerons to sample new products.

ICC Sydney, Chief Executive Officer, Adam Mather-Brown said: “ICC Sydney is resolute in showcasing the quality and diversity of wine from the region, with one quarter of our 100% NSW wine list from the Orange region, giving attendees the opportunity to experience some of the state’s finest cool climate wines.

“This commitment sits alongside the fresh produce we source from Orange and Central West farmers to enrich the dining experience for our clients and guests,” Mather-Brown said.

Over the past decade, ICC Sydney has purchased 640,000 bottles of NSW wine creating meaningful economic opportunities for regional wineries and supporting jobs, investment and prosperity across New South Wales.

President of the Orange Region Vignerons Association (ORVA), Jeff Byrne, congratulated ICC Sydney on a decade of partnership with the region’s wine producers saying: “For 10 years, ICC Sydney has been a valued champion of wine from Orange, helping showcase our region’s exceptional produce to millions of visitors from across Australia and around the world. We’re very proud of the quality of the wines that we produce and the enduring partnership with ICC Sydney helps to elevate the profile of Orange as one of Australia’s premier cool climate wine regions.

“ICC Sydney’s commitment to sourcing and celebrating Orange wines demonstrates the important role major venues can play in supporting regional communities, creating jobs and driving long-term economic prosperity,” Byrne said.

Owner and Vigneron at Swinging Bridge Wines, Tom Ward said: “For the past 10 years, ICC Sydney has been an incredible advocate for Orange wine, providing a platform that has helped local producers connect with new audiences and build awareness of what makes our region so special.

“Partnerships like this create meaningful opportunities for regional businesses, support local jobs and help strengthen the reputation of Orange as one of Australia’s leading wine destinations,” Ward said.

William Wilson, the driving force behind ICC Sydney’s induction into the 2026 NSW Sommelier’s Wine List Awards Hall of Fame, remains committed to showcasing wine and produce from the region.

“Regional New South Wales is renowned for its exceptional wine, and this visit highlights our continued commitment to supporting Orange and Central West NSW wine producers. After a decade of championing the region, I welcomed the opportunity to reconnect with our wine industry partners and celebrate the exceptional wines through the Orange Wine Show platform.

“With increasing numbers of international delegates at events and record breaking numbers of patrons at our entertainment events, I know that the region’s wines, from outstanding sparkling wines, famous cool climate Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs, to a huge variety of emerging and alternative varieties, will be extremely well received,” Wilson said.

ICC Sydney sponsored the Best Exhibitor of Show accolade at the Orange Wine Awards for the ninth consecutive year – a category that was won by Swinging Bridge for the second year in a row. The Best Wine of the Show was won by Byrne Farm Wines for their outstanding 2024 “Single Barrel” Chardonnay.
