With a passion for technology and collaboration, we go beyond delivering exceptional sound, lighting, and visuals — we craft innovative digital solutions that bring every event to life.

This commitment to excellence is exemplified in the ICC Sydney AV Graduate Program, which, in November last year, opened for applications for the sixth time, providing a unique career pathway for newly qualified technicians to join our talented team.

As part of the year-long initiative, our graduates gain exposure to a calendar of events, exhibitions and conventions, working across all areas of ICC Sydney’s leading AV and production services.

Our team is dedicated to guiding graduates through every stage of event production, from initial planning to seamless execution, ensuring they gain hands-on experience in supporting organisers from start to finish. With a comprehensive suite of in-house technology and a commitment to continual investment, we ensure our venue and team remain at the forefront of industry innovation.

Some of these innovations include:

A A$2.09 million investment in LED Screens, audio visual and lighting inventory:  At ICC Sydney, we’re committed to investing in both our people and technology. We’ve recently unveiled a major enhancement to our in-house capabilities, with new lighting, audio, and LED screen systems to support seamless, high-impact events. This includes more than doubling our LED screen inventory with an additional 154sqm of VuePix Infiled AR Series panels – a world class system known for its ultra bright output and brilliant clarity. Complemented by over 60 HD projectors, concert-grade audio, and 4K broadcast camera systems, these advancements give our graduates firsthand experience working with industry-leading equipment at scale – ensuring they’re prepared for wherever their careers take them.

Projection mapping: We’re proud to introduce our graduates to the Immersive Projection Experience and involve them in its delivery, highlighting our commitment to innovation and creativity. Our captivating digital animation and projection of Boomalli Aboriginal Artist Jeffrey Samuels’ ‘Gadigal, Acknowledgement Respect’ artwork, connects event attendees to the rich culture of First Nations Peoples and drives a positive social benefit through a unique audio visual experience. The service offers event planners access to 500sqm of dynamic content space within the Darling Harbour Theatre. Our team collaborates with organisers to create bespoke projection mapping content, transforming the theatre’s diamond-shaped acoustic wall panels into stunning, custom-designed displaystailored to each event.

Digital media: From presentation support, filming and editing, or crafting custom content, ICC Sydney’s Digital Media Suite offers end-to-end creative services through a dedicated team of in-house designers. Our Media Studio features advanced live-streaming and broadcast capabilities, enabling our graduates to learn how to elevate both onsite and online events to a level beyond traditional convention centres.

Event app and badge-printing: At ICC Sydney, our event app and badge printing technology give graduates practical exposure to the digital tools that help streamline event operations. This experience builds their awareness of how technology enhances attendee engagement and supports seamless event delivery, helping them appreciate the full scope of event technology, from both onsite and digital perspectives.

For the graduates, the ICC Sydney AV Graduate Program is a proven pathway to gain invaluable experience working on complex and creative events – and an opportunity to put into practice the skills and knowledge they developed during their education. The mentoring they receive from our team of experienced industry professionals is paramount to the program’s success, providing essential guidance, real-world insights, and support as they transition into professional roles.

We are proud to have progressed 100% of the graduates to casual and permanent roles at the venue. The AV Graduate Program also bolsters our support for client events into the future, as we broaden the capability of our diverse, inclusive and multi-generational team.
