In a demonstration of its commitment to philanthropy and social impact, International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney), managed by ASM Global, has recognised its charity clients at its inaugural appreciation luncheon yesterday.
The event follows a bumper year for ICC Sydney where charity and not for profit organisations declared at least A$7.1 million in funds raised through events hosted at the venue for a diversity of worthy causes.
ICC Sydney has consistently demonstrated its commitment and capacity to drive positive benefits to the community through a robust Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy, including its pioneering, multi-streamed client Legacy Program, all informed by the ASM Global ACTS framework, United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and relevant global, national and local strategic policies and legislation.
ICC Sydney CEO and Group Director – Convention Centres, ASM Global (APAC), Geoff Donaghy says the venue strives to unlock the potential of the world class events it hosts to leave a lasting social legacy.
“Making a difference is core to our mission. By running extraordinary events, we have an opportunity and an obligation to support our clients to also reach their social contribution goals.
“As a critical piece of our State’s economic infrastructure, ICC Sydney creates employment and value through the events we host and throughout our long supply chain. But equally important, ICC Sydney is committed to creating a positive impact in our community, fulfilling our role as a powerful piece of social infrastructure,” Mr Donaghy said.
ICC Sydney’s Legacy Program is part of its suite of corporate social responsibility resources that supports corporate, association, government, charity and not for profit event organisers to leave a lasting environmental and social legacy long after the conclusion of an event.
