ICC Sydney Update – Driving change through innovation

31 Mar 2025

On behalf of the leadership team at ICC Sydney, I am bringing you an update on key changes which have occurred here at ICC Sydney.

Our business is maturing and moving into a new phase, and as such, we are committed to a strategy of ‘Driving change through innovation’ with data at its core. Through this strategy, we’ll continue to focus on improving the client and delegate experience, improving efficiency and productivity, and delivering even more benefits to the community.

Continuing with our mission to ‘Make a difference’ and deliver on our ‘More than a venue’ promise we have made some changes to our executive function.

As a committed member of our executive team for over 10 years, Samantha Glass, Director of Corporate Affairs, Communication and Sustainability has set course for new challenges. We recognise Samantha for her contribution in establishing ICC Sydney as one of the industry’s strongest brands, with a reputation for making a positive impact on our people, our industry and within our community. Samantha Glass’ responsibilities have been redistributed across the executive team.

Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Commercial Officer

In recognition of her strong commercial acumen and extensive understanding of the business events national and international markets, clients and stakeholders, Beverley Parker has assumed executive leadership of the Business Development and Communications departments. Beverley’s title has been changed to Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Commercial Officer.

General Manager – Operations

Lynell Peck has been elevated to the position of General Manager – Operations reflecting her wealth of experience across both culinary and event operations. Three executive roles – Director of Audio Visual Services, Director of Building Services and Sustainability and Director of Event Delivery will support Lynell Peck to deliver world class event operations to the standard our clients have come to expect at ICC Sydney.

Director of Audio Visual Services

Innovation is a key cornerstone of ICC Sydney’s services and operational capability. Our highly technical and internationally respected Director of Audio Visual Services, Brian Nash now reports into Lynell Peck as the General Manager – Operations.

Director of Building Services and Sustainability

Reflecting the critical role sustainable operations have at ICC Sydney – including energy, water and waste reduction and beyond, Adam Smith has had a change to his title to Director of Building Services and Sustainability and reports to Lynell Peck as the General Manager – Operations.

Director of Event Delivery

The Director of Event Delivery is a newly created position, absorbing the responsibility of both Event Services and Culinary Services. This position will be subject to a recruitment process in due time and will report to Lynell Peck as executive lead. In the meantime, both our Culinary and Event Services teams are focused on delivering world class experiences for our clients and delegates.

General Manager – New Projects

Internationally renowned event management expert, Malu Barrios will champion a new role working on new projects. Malu will continue to work with ICC Sydney’s executive team, however, will be stepping away from her previous role of executive lead of Event Services to lend her expansive expertise in a new capacity focussed on innovative projects.

Chief Financial Officer and Chief People Officer Roles

Formerly Director of Business Services, Martin Clapham’s title has been changed to Chief Financial Officer. Our Director of Human Resources, Luke Fleming’s title has changed to Chief People Officer. There is no significant change to these areas of responsibility, however the changes reflect cohesive titles internally, as well as stronger alignment to the external market.

This is an exciting time of change at ICC Sydney, and we remain steadfastly committed to delivering on our ‘More than a venue’ promise, and working to make a difference by delivering successful events in collaboration with our valued clients and event partners.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to your dedicated ICC Sydney representative who is very happy to support with any queries you may have.

Yours faithfully,

Adam Mather-Brown
