The year was off to flying start here at ICC Sydney and it is timely to share our first 2024 update with you. Our caring and passionate team of professionals is thrilled to have already supported the successful delivery of 50 events this year. Also, we participated in an important annual engagement – the Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME). It was gratifying to see many of you there as ICC Sydney exhibited alongside our partners, Destination New South Wales and Business Events Sydney.
While at AIME, we highlighted a key feature of our ICC Sydney team culture and business operations – respect. Respect is part of ICC Sydney’s DNA. From engaging with community partners to selecting sustainable food and beverage options, ICC Sydney demonstrates a steadfast commitment to creating events that resonate with diverse audiences and uphold principles of respect and inclusivity.
We formally launched our ‘RESPECT: Shaping Events for Success‘ report developed in collaboration with research agency McCrindle that sheds light on the changing events landscape – with relevance for international and national events. According to the report, a significant majority of Australians are actively engaging in local entertainment (69%) and business events (46%), with a notable presence from Generation Z. This underscores the growing importance of creating event experiences that resonate with diverse audiences across five generations and cater to their evolving values.
The ‘RESPECT: Shaping Events for Success’ report identified six key trends – from curated event experiences, socially impactful events, sustainable gatherings, events that prioritise health and wellbeing to human centric technology at events – these attendee expectations are all underpinned by ICC Sydney’s Legacy Program which now features an ‘Inclusion and Belonging’ focus alongside First Nations, Innovators and Entrepreneurs, Creative Industries and Environmentally Sustainable events.
