    OVERVIEW

With over 1,500 delegates, including 65% from overseas, the 18th World Congress of the International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (ISPRM) generated A$7 million for Sydney’s local economy, showcasing the city and highlighting ICC Sydney’s exceptional capacity to host significant international events.

ICC Sydney proudly facilitated this landmark gathering, marking the first time the Congress was held in Australia. The venue adeptly accommodated the diverse needs of the five-day conference, offering everything from state-of-the-art theatres and premium exhibition spaces to versatile conference rooms. The Congress not only underscored ISPRM’s vital partnership with the World Health Organisation but also served as a platform for advancing research, enhancing professional education, and fostering scientific progress in rehabilitation medicine.

ICC Sydney provided the ideal setting to emphasise the importance of global collaboration in shaping the future of healthcare, ensuring that key speakers delivered their messages effectively and impactfully. At the Summit, leaders explored effective ways to realise global commitments under the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, and how to accelerate collective action to drive investment in nature and strengthen activities to protect and repair the environment.

“When we looked at the size of our meeting, and the diversity of activities that are going on within our meeting, ICC Sydney offered a variety of environments. It’s in a lovely area of Darling Harbour, ideally located as well with restaurants and its proximity to the city (…) is really spectacular.”

    – John Olver, ISPRM Congress President

    Supporting your vision

As a world class venue equipped with state-of-the-art technology, ICC Sydney was awarded the bid to host the ISPRM World Congress for the first time in Australia. ISPRM praised ICC Sydney for its exceptional facilities, including the versatile Exhibition Centre, Convention Centre, and Darling Harbour Theatre. The venue’s speaker-ready rooms were noted for their functionality, while the close proximity of diverse activities, attractions and acommodation were recognised as a significant advantage, enhancing the overall experience for delegates and contributing to the event’s success.

    Connect Hub speaker services

With a 5-day conference packed with insightful keynote presentations and sessions, speakers were able to utilise the venue’s Speaker Preparation Centre. This centre is a stress-free environment where speakers can tweak their presentations, calm their nerves and practice privately to ensure their best delivery. The fully equipped rehearsal area stimulates a typical meeting room setup, has high-speed internet and provides support from multiple experienced team members available to review presentations.

    Exceptional hosting

ICC Sydney was proud to have successfully hosted the ISPRM event, accommodating over 1,500 delegates across five days. The team was recognised for their exemplary service and expert guidance on optimising presentation delivery playing a crucial role in ensuring the event’s seamless execution and overall success. To further enhance the experience, the venue supported connection to its Community Partner, KARI Foundation, who delivered a Welcome to Country ceremony, providing delegates with a meaningful opportunity to acknowledge and honour First Nations culture and land.
