ICC Sydney’s mission is to make a difference and event organisers are increasingly engaging ICC Sydney’s Legacy Program – across its five streams including Environmental Sustainability, First Nations, Inclusion & Belonging, Innovators & Entrepreneurs and Creative Industries to provide sustainable, and socially responsible solutions to create events with enduring positive impacts.

Here’s how four recent events optimised the partnership with ICC Sydney to drive positive impact through their Gala Awards.

“It has been a pleasure to host APRA Music Awards at ICC Sydney for the past five years. ICC Sydney’s staff were incredibly attentive and caring, seamlessly collaborating with all members of our team and production staff. They were accommodating of additional requests both before the event and on the day.

Their customer service, from booking to execution of the event, was excellent. On the ground, we were dealt with professionally and positively, and our attendees also praised the service, as well as the food on offer.”

APRA Music Awards

Celebrating significant achievements in contemporary music and contributing to the future of the industry, this annual event, now in its fifth year at ICC Sydney hosted 680 Australian songwriters, music publishers, and VIP industry guests in 2024.

Event organisers relied on the extensive experience and professionalism of ICC Sydney to ensure a seamless transition between seven live performances and the award presentation. Given that APRA is a not-for-profit organisation, the venue worked closely with organisers to ensure costs remained within budget, ultimately delivering an extremely memorable and high-quality production.

Property Council of Australia – National Innovation & Excellence Awards

In recognition of ICC Sydney’s premium infrastructure, world class services, and strong commitment to corporate social responsibility, the Property Council of Australia / Rider Levett Bucknall National Innovation & Excellence Awards Gala Dinner has returned to ICC Sydney annually since 2017. In 2024, an anticipated 1,000 guests will join together at the gala to celebrate the industry’s best projects, developments, refurbishments, people and companies, and recognise the positive contribution made by the young property industry professionals through the APP Group Award for Future Leader of the Year.

Each year, event organisers rely on the relationships they’ve formed with their ICC Sydney event team to deliver a consistently impressive gala for their 900+ guests. Ensuring restaurant-quality catering, a Menu Presentation showcased the fabulous food and service on offer for events. Organisers also included a Welcome to Country, creating a more inclusive and curated event experience recognising First Nations culture.

AmCham Alliance Awards Gala

ICC Sydney was selected to host the prestigious and innovative American Chamber of Commerce Alliance Awards where 500 guests celebrated the innovative trailblazers and achievements in American-Australian trade.

While recognising top achievers and innovators, the event and organisation also supports and strengthens links between Australia and the United States, focusses attention on future investment, and supports inspiration for the next generation of innovators, delivering long-term economic benefits for these key industries.

In addition to an impressive 32-metre wide screen featuring high-definition blended projection, ICC Sydney partnered with organisers to create impressive multi-level, diamond-shaped staging at the heart of the event space to provide an elevated area for the band and keep the main stage open for presenters. The unique shape allowed guest tables to effectively hug into the stage and create an exciting connection with the audience.

Tour de Cure

Welcoming over 1,100 attendees and featuring 5 performances, Tour de Cure Snowball 2024 raised an impressive A$1,800,000 (up from A$1,500,000 in 2023) for cancer research during its recent gala held in ICC Sydney’s Grand Ballroom. ICC Sydney’s team was privileged to play a part in supporting Tour de Cure ‘s ongoing event and fundraising success.

ICC Sydney played a pivotal role in the event’s triumph by offering exceptional food and beverage options (including up to 3 carbon-friendly items), ensuring flexibility with dressing rooms, providing breakout spaces, and facilitating various activations. Tour de Cure designed a stunning Studio 54 theme, and the dedicated audio-visual team further provided a high-quality production, contributing to a memorable experience for all attendees.

ICC Sydney guided Tour de Cure’s event organisers through the complexities of styling, creation, and installation. The team seamlessly integrated Tour de Cure’s creative vision, enhancing the guest experience and comfort, which contributed to the event’s highest attendance yet.
