OVERVIEW
ICC Sydney hosted the world’s first Global Nature Positive Summit in a landmark event attended by around 1,000 delegates including international Ministers, environmental policy experts across government and corporate sectors, Indigenous Peoples and investors.
At the Summit, leaders explored effective ways to realise global commitments under the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, and how to accelerate collective action to drive investment in nature and strengthen activities to protect and repair the environment.

Surrounded by endemic landscaping that has increased biodiversity in Darling Harbour, ICC Sydney is situated on Gadigal Country on Tumbalong overlooking Gomora (sparkling waters of Cockle Bay).
ICC Sydney’s ample foyer spaces set up with displays and stages were the perfect backdrop to support these crucial conversations and connections.
World class venue services
Underscoring the event’s success, the Global Nature Positive Summit organising committee tapped into ICC Sydney’s leading services including its in-house security personnel who collaborated closely with local authorities to secure the meeting environment for international dignitaries in attendance.
In conjunction with the Global Nature Positive Summit team, the ICC Sydney managed a high volume of team member accreditations, processing a large workforce to deliver the event onsite. ICC Sydney’s communications support ensured media management protocols and proactive communications.
AV production bringing content to life
ICC Sydney’s high-quality audio-visual production featured a standout immersive projection experience connecting delegates to First Nations culture by animating Boomalli Aboriginal artist Jeffrey Samuels’ ‘Gadigal, Acknowledgement Respect’ artwork. Projected lighting effects created by ICC Sydney’s in-house audio-visual experts brought the cardboard event branding on Darling Harbour Theatre’s iconic stage to life.
Sustainable and social impact services in focus
ICC Sydney’s accessible, inclusive infrastructure and sustainable services were welcoming and inclusive of the high-profile delegations. A traditional First Nations Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony were supported in the Darling Harbour Theatre.
The team supported with specialty plans, including pre and post event reports on waste and utilities to support a carbon friendly event. The event’s carbon footprint benefited from the venue’s 24% green energy investment. ICC Sydney’s event waste management plan aimed to minimise waste through diversion strategies and leveraging innovative Bintracker waste monitoring and reporting technology. Food waste was monitored and kept to a minimum through ICC Sydney’s AI-assisted Winnow program.
Customised, carbon friendly menu options developed by ICC Sydney’s in-house culinary experts featured local, sustainably sourced produce and championed dishes infused with Indigenous herbs and spices. Sustainable decor, including traditional First Nations woven fishing nets artwork, ghost net baskets, was suspended from ICC Sydney’s ceilings. ICC Sydney-recommended sustainable signage was implemented throughout the event space.
