ICC Sydney showcased its versatility by transforming one of its renowned venue spaces into a state-of-the-art movie theatre and red-carpet experience for the Australian premiere of Gladiator II. The event, Produced by The Event Department & hosted by Paramount Pictures Australia, featured a 37-piece orchestra performing in the Woodward Water Feature, an elegant 66m draped curtain backdrop for the red-carpet, and a dedicated media pen and fan zone, allowing attendees and the public to be immersed in the glamour of this world class premiere. Through meticulous planning by the in-house team and in collaboration with the event organisers, The Event Department & Paramount Pictures Australia, ICC Sydney successfully contributed to the delivery of an unforgettable experience hosting 2,500 guests at this major blockbuster event.
In-house audio visual expertise
In collaboration & consultation with Hoyts Cinema Technology Group, Dolby, and Original Syndicate, ICC Sydney’s Audio-Visual team expertly reconfigured the Darling Harbour Theatre’s audio system into a 7.1 channel surround sound system, creating an unparalleled auditory experience. They enhanced the bass by integrating additional subwoofers and reconfigured the surround system to incorporate extra speakers in the side and rear channels, fully immersing the audience in the movie’s soundtrack. Meanwhile, the interior of Darling Harbour Theatre dazzled guests with a visual display, complementing the iconic Gladiator II theme and elevating the overall cinematic experience.

ICC Sydney’s event team played a crucial role in the premiere, working closely with The Event Department and Paramount Pictures Australia to plan and execute every detail with precision. Tickets for this event were sold out in just 24 hours, with guests enjoying a star studded 37-piece orchestra performed outside at the Woodward Water Feature, adding a unique touch to the atmosphere. Working closely with the Event producers & hosts, the team assisted to efficiently guide guests and VIPs to the red carpet while managing enthusiastic fans. Due to their careful and collaborative planning and coordination with event producers, the event ran smoothly, reflecting a strong commitment to excellence and seamless execution.
